Dicksonia squarrosa is an elegant tree fern with a crown of dark-green glossy fronds atop a long slender brown trunk up to 2 metres high at maturity.  It is the ideal tree fern to plant along pathways as it remains more compact than other tree fern varieties.  It is sometimes referred to as the flat-top tree fern.  Dicksonia squarrosa can form multiple trunks and produce dormant buds that can grow if the main trunk is damaged.  Protect from frost and drying winds.
